INSPIRATION:
The idea was born from sustainable thinking to use less material for door handle by produce just ‎one knob to save more energy and better exploitation of resources to protect our planet.‎ In addition to increase the safety of doors and solving problem associated with traditional design.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
According to this point that some places doesn’t need to privacy or noise covering, Less, a dual side door handle, is designed for ‎today’s offices, administrative and learning spaces or kids rooms to be more ‎sustainable, safety, ergonomic and easy to use for solving some problems like injuring people ‎‎and destroying property that can made by ‎Aluminum and Fluorescent Acrylic for better visibility at night.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This door handle consists of a internal frame and just a handle that everybody can use it easily. ‎Users can see the people behind the door, so they open it slowly. Also fluorescent acrylic on the ‎knob lets people to take that clearly at night.

 

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Die casting aluminum for door handle body with brushed texture and fluorescent acrylic for better visibility at night.

Width 180 mm * Depth 53 mm * Height 110 mm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The shape was created in my mind when i wanted to solve some ergonomic and functional ‎problems of door handle to prevent injuries to children or adults caused by collisions against it, ‎prevent clothing from becoming caught in and torn by it, and lengthen the service life of the ‎product by preventing a nearby wall from being damaged by a collision of the door handle against ‎the nearby wall. So I use design thinking technique to run this project. ‎

CHALLENGE:
The big challenge of this project was how I design a door handle with no protruding portion, ‎reducing number of parts and manufacturing costs and improving durability.‎
